Living with a loop of bowel on the abdomen has its own challenges; but survivors of cancer will tell you that life is more precious and facing these challenges gave new meaning to their lives. How a member in the family or society faces a challenge is something that will inspire those around them. An Ostomy Association (SPANDANAM) was formed for the colostomy patients at MCC-PGIOSR on 21 Oct 2011. The purpose is to teach and inspire patients and family members various aspects of Stoma care. The programme was inaugurated by Sri M Mukundan, a renowned writer.
