The Department of Engineering and Maintenance of MCC carried out routine maintenance works of the electrical, civil and plumping in the hospital, new construction works, installation of new medical equipments, etc.
The systematic working of the department leads to getting I Prize in Kerala State Energy Conservation Award, 2016 and Kerala State Pollution Control Board Award for the years 2011, 2012,2013,2014,2014 and 2017.
Scope of Services
- Electrical maintenance
- Plumbing
- Lift maintenance
- Mechanical maintenance like STP, operation, power laundry, medical gas plant etc.
- Bio-medical engineering services including insurance.
- Monitoring installation of new biomedical equipments
- Ensuring training to the user end by supplier as and when required and consequent training by the department.
- Maintaining the biomedical equipments in a functional state to ensure quality healthcare.
Achievements and Facilities available
- Provided automatic (Timer system) on-off system for street lights and this reduced unwanted working of these systems.
2 To promote vegetable cultivation we brought 350 numbers of grow bags from agriculture department for the use nurses hostel and canteen and doctors quarters
Seminar/Workshops/Conferences/ Training organized
- We had conducted an Energy conservation class for staff and bystanders with the help of energy management centre and KSEB. The class was very useful for the safe and economical handling of power equipments and energy.
- In connection with world Environment day celebration we conducted a program Centilla 13 (classes to public for the importance of leaves in the day to day life and started a garden for eatable leafy plants). There were above 600 participants in the programme. In continuation to this we had started planting turmeric in 5 cent of land.
