       The   Engineering department of MCC carried out routine maintenance works of the electrical, Civil and plumping in the hospital, new construction works, installation of  new medical equipments etc.

Activities and Achievements 2012-13

  1. Modification works of Blood bank (Aluminum fabrication, False ceiling & Electrical works) required for installation stem cell equipments.
  2. Modification of Imagiology department – Present mammography room modified as per BARC norms. For this aluminum partition works, civil works, carpenters works etc are done by engaging outside persons and electrical and plumbing works are done departmentally. 
  3. Construction of Molecular oncology department (Civil, Aluminum fabrication and Electrification work) is in final stage.
  4. The following emergency works were estimated, verified by PWD /Govt. Engineering college Kannur and executed after invited quotations separately and completed timely.
    a) Nurses hostel – Records Room
    b) Cleaning staff Room 
    c) ICU Lobby 
    d) Pathology Lab
    e) Specimen room
    f) Medical library (false ceiling & aluminium fabrication)
    g) Nurses rest room
    h) Bystanders dining area
    i) Patient and staff dress changing room in brachy OT
    j) Pathology lab partition wall shifting
  5. Provided automatic (Timer system) on-off system for street lights and this reduced unwanted working of these systems.
  6. We had conducted an Energy conservation class for staff and bystanders with the help of energy management centre and KSEB. The class was very useful for the safe and economical handling of power equipments and energy.
  7. In connection with world Environment day celebration we conducted a program Centilla 13 – (classes to public for the importance of leaves in the day to day life and started a garden for eatable leafy plants). There were above 600 participants in the programme. In continuation to this we had started planting turmeric in 5 cent of land.
  8. To promote vegetable cultivation we brought 350 numbers of grow bags from agriculture department for the use nurses hostel and canteen and doctors quarters
  9. Prepared (up to date plan) Master Plan for the electrical installation construction and regularized the building permit. 
  10. Renewal of AMC of Hospital equipments with different agencies and their payments settled. 
  11. Repaired the damaged Cots, Wheel chairs, Trolleys, Toilet door frames etc with the free service rendered from the students of NTTF
  12. Completed the work of providing street lights in the hospital and are working ok.
